Tosibox: Scalable Test Infrastructure with GKE

OUTCOME

Polar Squad joined Tosibox’s R&D team to design and implement test automation platform and architecture for scalable virtualized VPN solutions. After the implementation, we hosted several workshops for the team to get to know the new tech and to use the best DevOps practices. The development team now has the ability to test vast amounts of devices and client setups without having the actual hardware installations, helping them to emulate client issues with ease.

THE WORK

Tosibox was transforming its business from a hardware company to a software company. They struggled to get resources to test and verify their products in new tech areas while keeping the quality high. They were also renewing their team, so it was a perfect time to introduce new technology to development. Polar Squad created an architectural design to scale and test containerized applications automatically. The goal was to bring the best practices for R&D in test automation design and scalable infrastructure. Polar Squad helped them also with Kubernetes and modern microservice architecture.

About the client

Tosibox was born in 2010 from the idea that secure remote access doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive or time-consuming.

Having developed and patented the world’s first remote access device with Plug & Go™ technology, Tosibox sold its first device out of its Oulu Finland headquarters in 2012, quickly expanding abroad followed by the establishment of three subsidiaries in Germany, Scandinavia, and the USA. TOSIBOX® products are now sold across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.
